TWO AMAZING GUESTS IN A SPECIAL ONE HOUR SHOW

An iconic image transcends convention and resonates with meaning beyond its surface. No truer words describe the work of Jenny Shimizu. More than a decade after stepping in front of the camera lens, the supermodel, actress and media personality has shined whether dominating the catwalk, working in independent cinema or serving as a judge on the hit Bravo reality show, Make Me A Supermodel. In 1993 Jenny became personally involved with Madonna, after making a cameo in the music video “Rain” (1993). Then came Foxfire (1996), Jenny’s first feature film and leading role, cast opposite of former love, Angelina Jolie. Despite the flood of gossip she received, Jenny has never been shy or apologetic of her high profile relationships. While in her early 20′s Todd Hughes cast Jenny in the madcap, John Waters-esque murder mystery Ding Dong (1995) and in the early 2000′s the two reunited in The New Women (2001). Jenny’s recent works includes the award-winning feature film, Itty Bitty Titty Committee (2007) directed by Jamie Babbitt; two short films, Four Steps (2009) and Tools 4 Fools (2009); and the feature film, Bob’s New Suit (2009).

Jenny’s television roles include a special appearance on the “coming-out” episode of Ellen (1997) and playing Elena on Here Television’s Dante’s Cove (2007). Since 2005, Jenny has been celebrated for her unique beauty in E Television’s Sexiest Top Models(2005) and UK Channel 4′s 100 Greatest Sex Symbols (2007). Making a critically acclaimed shift into reality television, Jenny appeared on “America’s Next Top Model,” (2005), Logo Television’s Curl Girls(2007), and as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race (2009). Jenny is currently a series regular judge, with fellow supermodel Tyson Beckford, on Bravo’s Make Me a Supermodel (2009).

While working as a mechanic she was approached to model for the Calvin Klein CK1 fragrence ads and model Calvin Klein fashions. She later was featured in the Banana Republic 'American Beauty' campaign.
In 2005, she appeared in Sky documentary Power Lesbian UK (broadcast as Power Lesbians on Logo which profiled successful lesbians in Los Angeles), where she married Rebecca Loos. She appeared on Tyra Banks's reality show America's Next Top Model in that year. She was voted "sexiest woman" in a 2005 poll by gay publication The Pink Paper.
Shimizu had a supporting role in Jamie Babbit's 2007 film Itty Bitty Titty Committee. She was also one of the stars of Foxfire, alongside Angelina Jolie. Shimizu appeared in the third season of the here! original series Dante's Cove.
She appeared in season two of Bravo TV's Make Me a Supermodel as a member of the judging panel.
So now that we have some credentials out of the way, I am here to tell you that I am most anxious to find about the PERSON.  Will we get to hear what moves her, what motivates her, what causes her spirit to leap forth with joy?  Tune in to my radio show this coming week.

LENN KELLER
Used By Permission

My second guest that same day will be the amazing Lenn Keller.  She is a San Francisco based filmmaker and photographer, whose work deals with political and spiritual issues, including identity politics. She has a B.A. in Visual Communication from Mills College, and is currently at work on a series of mixed media photographs of people of color in natural settings in an attempt to re-construct and expand cultural frames of reference.
Written, produced and directed by H. Lenn Keller, Ifé chronicles a day in the life of a black French lesbian in San Francisco. This humorous short pays stylistic homage to Jean Luc Godard's 50's film, Breathless. Ifé won Best Short Film at the '94 Madrid International Women's Film Festival, and is distributed by Frameline Films and is also available on a video compilation called Dyke Drama, distributed by Wolfe Video. Ifé premiered at the San Francisco Lesbian & Gay Int'l Film Festival in 1993, and has screened in festivals internationally, including KQED's Living Room Festival, the London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, Berlin Film Festival, SXSW, and Women in the Director's Chair.
Check out her website at www.lennkeller.com  Here are some photos (used by permission).
It will truly be an inspiring moment to speak with her about her professional journey and how her personal and spiritual journey have combined with the professional to influence one another and to inspire the masses!
